Harry's Fantastic Fundraising for Dudley Mind

Well done to Harry in Y6 who has been taking part in some fantastic charity work in his spare time.

Thank you to Harry's dad who has shared information about the great work that Harry and his football team have been taking part in:

Harry's Stourbridge FC U12s team is raising money for Dudley Mind to help people across the Dudley Borough who are feeling anxious or depressed because of how their lives are being affected right now. In the last year, Harry has learned a lot about mental health and about how good physical health can help people can keep their mental health stronger too.

He decided to do something about it - to run for his own fitness - but to do this in aid of Dudley Mind.  He spoke to his football coach and very soon the whole of his team had committed themselves to the same challenge.  The 250k Run for Dudley Mind was born.

What this means for many of the team, including Harry, is a commitment to run at least the equivalent of a Marathon distance (at least 26.5 miles) by the end of August.  Harry is already 10 miles into his run and feels fitter and more positive than ever.

To date the team has raised over £700 and welcome as much support as possible from the Ridge community. Their fundraising page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stourbridgeu12s-250krun4mind

Fantastic work, Harry! We're all extremely proud of you.

Fundraising for The Child Accident Prevention Trust

We've been learning about how to keep safe at school and home with the help of The Child Accident Prevention Trust. Our School Council then organised a cake sale which raised over £320 for the charity.

Thank you to everyone who donated.

Big Thanks to our Forest School Helpers!

A massive thank you to Peter and our wonderful parent helpers for their help today in clearing the Forest School site ready for the bugs to enjoy, and be welcomed into their new hotel!

Year 1 Shop!

The 'Year 1 Shop' opened its doors today! To help us with our maths work, children used tokens representing one-penny coins to purchase a variety of objects. Children really enjoyed being shopkeepers and customers. They used their maths skills to carefully work out how much money they needed to buy different items.

Year 1's Goldilocks experience!

Children put themselves into Goldilocks' shoes today and had a taste of some porridge! They tried Daddy Bear's salty porridge, Mummy Bear's sweet porridge and Baby Bear's porridge which was just right! Children really enjoyed this experience and were able to imagine what it was like for Goldilocks in the story.
