Year 5 Taster Day at Ridgewood

On Monday Year 5 visited Ridgewood High School, for a taster day. 
 
Year 5 were welcomed into the science labs and were lucky enough to carry out a number of scientific investigations - they even got to observe algae and other microorganisms under a microscope! The staff at Ridgewood and Miss Wesson were impressed with the way in which the children applied their prior knowledge to reach conclusions and spoke confidently like scientists.
 
We had a great time!

Arthur's Fantastic Fundraising!

Last weekend, Arthur from Year 2 along with other members of Halas Hawks football teams, climbed Mount Snowdon. It took 3 hours to walk up and another 3 to walk back down and they raised over £2000!
 
Half of the money will go towards the football teams and the other half will be split between the participants to give to their chosen charity.
 
Arthurs chosen Charity is Guts UK- the only charity funding research into digestive system.
 
Very well done Arthur - we're so proud of you!
