Summer Term Letter

Dear Year 2 Children and families,

I hope you’ve had a wonderful Easter and spent some quality time with your loved ones whilst keeping safe. I’ve had a lovely time with my boys and even managed to fit in a bit of long over-due decorating (as well as lots of chocolate eating!). We’ve been getting out for our daily exercise during the evening, going for walks around Wollaston village, and spotted some super rainbow displays!

I know it probably feels a little bit strange at the moment but hopefully you have settled into a new routine and are making the most of this time with your family. Thank you to those of you that have sent me emails, pictures and video clips of the wonderful things you have been doing at home. They have really made me smile. Please continue to do a little bit of learning each day. This could include practising your spellings (you could use the new Spelling Shed app), collecting some Doodle stars or reading. I’ve been practising my reading, too. After reading a couple of books by an author I really enjoy (Vashti Hardy), I am now reading Swallows and Amazons. I would love to hear what you have been reading. Maybe you could send me a little book review and some recommendations.

Most importantly though, please stay safe at home, look after your parents and siblings and I look forward to seeing you all when we safely return to school.

Parents/carers – thank you for the support you have been providing to your children during this time and if there is anything I can help with, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Ryder

Hello Year 2!

I hope you are all keeping safe and enjoying your time at home. I really miss you all and can’t wait to see you when we can safely go back to school.

I have been enjoying taking Stanley for walks and doing lots of gardening in this lovely sunshine. I’ve also been reading lots: I’m on my third Harry Potter book now. Maybe you can test me on them when we return. What I’ve really loved is having some time to make things in my craft room.

can’t wait to hear about the books that you have been reading and the work that you have been doing.

Keep safe and enjoy the sunshine.

Lots of love,

Mrs Kirby
