Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to update you on our visit to The Rep Theatre to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, which was due to have taken place this morning.

Unfortunately, the coach which should have taken us to Birmingham, did not arrive to pick us up as arranged and by the time we were able to make contact with the company, it was too late for us to make the performance. This was despite the school confirming the booking with the company only yesterday. The company has fully accepted that human error on their part caused us to miss the performance this morning. They have asked that their apologies be given to everyone left disappointed by this and have vowed to do all they can to put things right.

I am pleased to tell you that The Rep Theatre have been very accommodating and have managed to transfer our booking to another performance. We will now be attending the show on Wednesday 24th January. This is a matinee performance, starting at 2.30 p.m. I will let you know more details and the time we expect to be returning to school in the next few days but obviously this will be much later than the normal end of the school day. As arranged for the visit today, the children will need a packed lunch and can bring a snack of dried fruit or a cereal bar for the interval.

I know how disappointing this was for the children. Hopefully you understand that it was beyond our control: mistakes happen and I am grateful that everyone has been able to work together to rearrange the visit. Thank you for your understanding.
