Return to school Update - 3rd January 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy new year to you all. I hope that you have had a safe and peaceful Christmas, even if it has been different to that which you had planned.

Thank you for your patience, whilst we have been confirming arrangements for opening tomorrow. As I am sure you will appreciate, this is a rapidly changing situation but, following advice from the LA in consultation with Public Health, I can now confirm that The Ridge will be open to all pupils as planned tomorrow.

However, I do need to make you aware that we do have a number of staff absent and in light of this, parents and carers may wish to begin thinking about contingency plans, should we be in the position in the coming days where staffing issues mean that we are unable to open safely. Clearly, we hope that this is not the case and you can be assured that we are doing all that we can to make partial or full closure the very last resort. The governors, LA and Public Health are reviewing the on-going local and national situation on a daily basis.

As parents and carers, you may have anxieties about sending your child to school at this current time. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss your concerns.

In the meantime, thank you for your on-going understanding and support.

Kind regards,

Deb Hudson
