A message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers

As we approach the end of the spring term, I want to remind you of the end of term arrangements.

Our Key Stage 2 (Year 3 - 6) Easter Assembly takes place tomorrow Thursday 26 March 2026 at St. James’s Church in Wollaston at 2.00 pm.  Children will walk to the church with school staff following afternoon registration.  We look forward to welcoming parents and carers who have booked tickets to watch the assembly.  Based on the information provided by yourselves, children will be dismissed to parents at the church or will walk back to school with school staff to be released as usual, or to join OSCAR.  We are very much looking forward to this event in the church and are very proud to showcase the talents of the children at this event.

Our Reception children and Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and 2) classes are very excited to present to you the annual Ridge Easter Bonnet parade.  The parade will take place once the children have been registered.  Parents are welcome to wait on the playground once the morning drop-off has been completed.  Cross your fingers for good weather!

The Easter competition for Key Stage 2 children to create a design and scene for a hard-boiled egg has seen an amazing array of entries.  Fantastic imagination and creative designs have been displayed for children and parents to view with the very difficult task of judging to be completed before the end of term.  We will announce the winners in due course.

We finish the term for all children at 2.00 pm on Friday 27 March 2026.  The school returns to the summer term on Monday 13 April 2026.  Our summer uniform will be in place after the Easter Holidays.  The summer uniform is for children to wear from the start of the summer term until the end of the summer term on Friday 17 July 2026.  Winter uniform will be required from the start of the autumn term 2026.  The summer uniform is as follows:

  • Yellow gingham or striped dress
  • Yellow Polo Shirt with the school logo. (Yellow polo shirts without the school logo are acceptable)
  • Grey pinafore dress, skirt or school trousers
  • Grey school trousers or grey school shorts
  • ‘Kingfisher Blue’ Sweatshirt / Cardigan with the school logo (obtainable from the School Office)
  • White or grey socks or tights
  • Flat black/navy/grey school shoes (not trainer style)
  • Sandals may be worn, with socks, but must be suitable for school (no trainers, beach/jelly shoes)

Cross Country

I want to congratulate our very talented Cross-Country runners from Years 5 and 6 who competed against 20 other schools in the Dudley championship at Summerhill School yesterday.  12 children were exceptional in their effort and commitment to the challenge and Mr Lamb was very proud of their combined effort with the best score the school has ever had in this competition.

RFA

Finally, a huge thank you for the ongoing efforts of the RFA and their extensive fundraising events for our children.  They have provided an update for you below:

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your continued support this term.  I wish you and your families a restful and enjoyable Easter break and look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 13 April 2026.  If you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school or myself directly.

Kind regards

Mrs C Gilbert
