A message from the Headteacher
As we approach the end of a busy term I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for all your help and support. Much has been packed into the spring term despite the snow's attempts to hamper us! When you reflect back over the past few weeks, it is amazing to see how many visits, special curriculum days and sporting events the children have been involved in. This week for example, along with the Sport Relief Mile, we had Saltmine Theatre company share a thought provoking performance and workshop with the children. This focused on British Values and helped the children to reflect on how we should treat each other. Huge thanks go to the staff who work so hard to make learning engaging by offering the children so many experiences.
It was lovely to see so many of you at our open evenings last week and your feedback about reports and the usefulness of the meetings with teachers, has been pleasing to receive. I hope that you will be able to join us for some of our Easter events next week and I hope that all have a lovely Easter break, when it finally comes.

New School Website
We are very excited to announce that our new school website will be going live during next week. You will be receiving a letter shortly advising how to log in to the new website, and also how to download the school life app on your phones/tablets so you can keep up to date with school news and messages on the move!!
Towards the end of term we will be holding a number of Easter Events including our traditional Easter Assemblies.
- Wednesday 28th March 2.00pm - Key Stage 2 Easter Assembly
- Thursday 29th March 9.00am - Reception and Key Stage 1 Easter Bonnet Parade
For both events entrance will be by ticket only, one ticket per child will be issued in the first instance. Please return any unwanted tickets to school. If you require an additional ticket please contact the school office.
- Key Stage 2 can enter our competition to decorate a hard boiled egg. They are asked to bring them into school on Monday 26th March when the eggs will be displayed for visitors to see.
- Easter Egg Raffle - tickets will be on sale from Monday 26th March and will cost 50p each. The raffle will be drawn on Thursday 29th March.
We would be very grateful for any donations of prizes.
Our recent book fair raised us a whopping £350!! This money is being used to buy new fiction books for every class in school. A massive thank you to Miss Beddoes for organising this.
School Closure Dates
Please remember that we finish at 2.00 p.m. on Thursday 29th March and term starts again on Monday 16th April.
School is also closed for the children on the following days.
- Thursday 3rd May (Local Elections)
- Friday 4th May (Inset Day)
- Monday 7th May (Bank Holiday)
We will soon be able to confirm the date of our remaining INSET (Staff Training) Day which is likely to take place in the second half of the summer term.
In the anticipation of some warm weather over the Easter break can we take this opportunity to remind you that the children may return after their holiday wearing the summer uniform (Yellow check/gingham dresses or polo shirts) if they wish.
